I'm not a big fan of this zombie trend in Hollywood these days. I have lost interest in "The Walking Dead." To be honest the only reason I watched this show was because I'm a big fan of Timothy Olyphant. Drew Barrymore was added incentive for giving this series a chance. They both have good chemistry as husband and wife. Joel (Olyphant) loves his wife so much that he is willing to do just about everything to make her happy. Even though he is supportive with Sheila's new diet of human flesh, he is always searching for a cure. Sheila (Barrymore) has found that her new condition has improved her life. She has no interest in a cure. Their daughter, Liv , is finding her zombie mother as an excuse to become a rebel teen. Trying to stay as the "normal" family with all these changes makes for a great watch.
This show is very gory. I watched in disbelief as Sheila malls her victims. If you can handle skin getting pulled from body parts like mozzarella cheese from a pizza then kudos to you. Even with the gross factor the show has a good flow. The comedy part isn't funny like modern family or the Goldbergs. It's a perfect balance between some laughable parts with horrific feeding scenes. A binge watchable show and I rate it at 6.5/10. Maybe a 7/10 if I was into zombies.
