Black Mirror Network: Netflix Genre: sci-fi Creator: Charlie Brooker After listening to our recent episode (episode 21) you might have heard Mike talking about the top 10 threats to Earths apocalypse from a study by The Centre For The Of Existential Risk. I felt this would be great time to give a review for a TV series which relates perfectly to this topic. |
Before you start going crazy about there being 3 season, let me break it down for you. Right now there is just 13 episodes. 1st season there is 3, 2nd season there are 4 and the 3rd has 6 episodes. This show is binge watchable and the fact that you don't have to watch each episode in order is a huge (yuge) plus.
There are plenty of really good things about this show. Each episode your giving a look at a great technological device. Imagine everything you see and your daily life is recorded because of lens in your eyes. You have the ability to rewind and review all the happy moments. You can upload on to tv and watching all your good moments. How about a chip in your brain, just like the Matrix, were your physically playing your favorite video game? Everything sounds great right? Wrong! Unfortunately this show plays out as a warning for all of us. There are no happy endings here. Even though you know things won't end well, your so drawn into the storyline that's it's impossible to stop watching.
There are some noticeable actors and actresses that will pop up as the episodes go on. Jon Hamm (Mad Men) stars in a crazy Christmas episode which is totally a mind blowing episode. Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World) stars in a crazy social media, uber rating world that was interesting. I recommend all females watch this episode.
Overall as series "Black Mirror" is good watch for everyone. My advice would be to skip the 1st episode of season 1. You might not eat pork for awhile. All the other episodes are much more interesting. I give this show 8/10 stars. Please don't forget to leave us reviews on iTunes, SoundCloud or what format you use.
