This book feels like a prologue to another story line called "purple". In this book Matt Murdock describes to a priest how he revealed his secret identity to the world, hated the fact that he did it, and how he went about getting it back.
Matt tells of the pressure that was relieved from him when he first began living his life as Daredevil out in the open, but soon realized that his life was missing something and that being Daredevil full time was not good for him emotionally and not good ofr the saftey of his loved ones either. Baddies new who he was and where to find him. They new who he was dating and went after her. At one point he was even sued by a criminal that he stopped from killing a man, because he was a civilian that assaulted someone.
His only option was to ask the Devil, Mephisto, himself but stopped himself from doing that. He was about to come to terms with his poor decision when two purple children showed up at his doorstep. Are they the children of the Purple man? Killgrave? I wonder just where this is going to go?
This all had to happen already because in present day stories from the same run, Daredevils identity is a secret again. So this "purple" arc had to happen between meeting the children and now. Is it just a recap of events that previously occurred? What impact of these events will carry over to the current story of Daredevil?
The previous two issues seemed really good but the arc ended very abruptly and when picking up this book, after reading every single book before it in this run, I feel like I missed something. I hope it comes together quickly. I have faith in Soule. For 16 previous issues he has been great so I am going to continue with it but this one, as of right now, fall a bit short.
