Amazing Spider-Man #25: The Osborn Identity

Norman is back!!!  Not sure how or why but I do love me some Green Goblin so I'll take it.

This book is gigantic with a $10 price tag so I hope it is good.  It kind of picks up after clone conspiracy but I am fairly certain you do not have to read CC to get into this book.  The only thing you need to know is that King Pin, as a thank you to Spider-Man during the Clone Conspiracy, gave him the whereabouts of Norman Osborn.

So we pick up with Spidey and a team, put together by Shield that includes Mocking Bird, Tarantula and Devil Spider who are on loan from Delvadia, on the hunt for Norman Osborn.

They are in some kind of underground tunnel system following a map given to Spidey from Kingpin.  When they finally get to him it isn't Osborn.  It was a South American drug lord named El Facoquero.  The trail was a dead end.  However Nick Fury has some Intel that Osborn might be elsewhere selling arms around the globe.
We get introduced to Norman in his hideout where he gets the info about El Facoquero whose face he was using and decides to alter his looks.  He has Dr. Dragovic, a plastic surgeon of sorts, replace his face with another.  Very Game of Thrones-ish.

Pete and Bobbi (Mocking Bird) travel to Hong Kong to investigate a El Facoquero sighting that they think could have been Norman In disguise. They are using a Uncle Ben foundation event as a cover.  Weird coincidence, Aunt May and Harry Osborn tagged along unexpectedly.

Spidey and Bobbi work the thugs on the streets of Hong Kong to see if they can find where Osborn has been hiding out and they find that there is a meeting of big arms dealers meeting at the Uncle Ben Foundation event.  The same event that Aunt May and Harry are attending.  What are the chances!!

The entire book we see a female figure using stealth tech to follow spider-Man while he searches out Norman Osborn.  And every time they think they have him this figure tries to kill Osborn first.  Here, she tries to pick Osborn off from a rooftop across from the Uncle Ben Event but Spidey sees her and shorts her tech with electric webbing.  It is revealed that she is the Silver Sable.

This story was a good.  Spidey teaming up with mockingbird usually works and in this case it was more of the same.  Good lead up to the next book but I still want to know how Norman is still around after all these years.

At the end of this book there are about 5 small 2-3 page stories by various artists and writers but the very last one teases a new villain.  The Superior Octopus!  That's right, during the clone conspiracy we think that Dr. Octopus dies but he actually was able to make a Proto Clone of Peter.  A perfect, even better clone than the others that will not have the decay problem like the others.  Before he perished in the fight with Ben Reilly in CC, he was able to put his consciousness into the Proto Clone and he has joined forces with Hydra to take down Parker Industries.

Cool Costume too!!!
